Fourth of July or Independence Day commemorates the birth of a new nation when thirteen American colonies declared themselves independent. AAP honors the shared heritage and history of Filipinos and Americans and celebrates our friendship and enduring bonds of loyalty and understanding. James Calero, Chairman of AAP, said of Americans in the Philippines, “Our feet are planted on two soils. Love of freedom and democracy is the common ground.”

AAP was founded in 1949 to help the American community in the Philippines recover from the devastation of World War II. It remains actively involved in its original mission of helping Americans and Fil-Ams in need, especially Fil-Am children who need financial aid for food, shelter, medicines, clothing, and education.

Do you want to be a sponsor?

“The American Association of the Philippines (AAP) invites you to participate as a sponsor of its annual 4th of July Celebration, a fun outdoor family event.

AAP believes in the power of community – helping fellow Americans and celebrating our shared heritage in the Philippines. In coordination with the U.S. Embassy, we provide educational assistance, medical care, immigration, repatriation, emergency loans and an Rh-negative blood donor network open to all nationalities. AAP is also the steward of the American Historical Collection housed at Ateneo de Manila University, and maintains a burial plot for indigents. AAP strengthens the local American community and celebrates our heritage by organizing patriotic events, including the 4th of July and Memorial Day.

This 4th of July event is AAP’s annual mid-year fundraiser – all proceeds will finance our social welfare programs. Please help us to help others – and have a good time too!

The event offers a showcase for what your company has to offer, as well as an opportunity to highlight your commitment to the American community, and to the ideals held by AAP – helping those who have no one to turn to for assistance. Your company can participate as a partner with AAP through cash or in-kind donations of items for the silent auction, raffle, food stall, beverages or entertainment.

On behalf of AAP and our beneficiaries, thank you!
