When we hear Bataan, Philippines, the first thing that will get inside our mind are beaches if we’re not from that place. Bataan is a province of the Philippines situated at Central Luzon. Most commonly known because of its beaches whether expensive or cheap. In this article, we listed 7 underrated spot that you must visit in Bataan aside from beaches.



1. Mount Samat Shrine, Pilar

The Shrine of Valor is located at Mount Samat. Arguably the most recognizable landmark in the province. You can cllimb at the about 92 meters high large cross to get a picturesque view of both Bataan and Corregidor. Aside from that, you can enjoy going back in time as you check out world war II memorabilias like old cannons, weapons, and underground museum.



2. Plaza Mayor de Ciudad de Balanga, Balanga City

Another spot that can’t be missed is the magnificent Plaza Mayor de Ciudad de Balanga, located in the heart of the city. Every night, the plaza comes to life with dancing fountains made special by colorful lights. It is also the perfect place if you want to interact with the locals. You can also check in at the nearby Plaza Hotel that meshes the quaint and the modern in order to form a charming boutique hotel.



3. Pasukulan Falls, Abucay



This one requires about three to four hours of trekking to see and experience its beauty, but the Pasukulan Falls of Abucay is one of the spot in Bataan that is totally worth to visit. Its majestic sight and pristine waters cascading from almost 200 feet falls into a pool is enough to call this place a paradise.


4. Loleng’s Hu Tieu-an, Morong





This spot may not be your picturesque place or majestic view but Loleng’s Hu Tieu-an will fill your stomach with Vietnamese-influenced dishes. This eatery has been serving people with delicious cuisine since the 90’s, Their best sellers are the Vietnamese noodle soup hu tieu and their special version of the bahn mi.


5. Tala Resort and Recreational Park, Orani

Talking about relaxation and scenery, Tala Resorts and Recreational Park is a must visit spot. This spot is located at a village called Tala in Orani and it’s a mountainside resort with cliff side pool overlooking the beautiful view of trees and mountains. It is also decked with villas, and the resort also has jacuzzi, in-resort spa, and a recreation center. This place is a total escape from urban life and a guaranteed stress reliever.


6. Tortugas Bay Park, Balanga

Also known as Balanga Wetland and Nature Park, Tortugas Bay Park is a spot for people who likes to see different species of birds and take pictures of them. Visit the park during wee hours of the morning and you’ll have the best chance to see those birds.


7. Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, Bagac
